Ambassador Kusaka’s Visit to Melbourne

Ambassador Kusaka visited Melbourne from the 20th to 22nd of March. During the trip, the Ambassador met with Victorian Treasurer the Hon. Tim Pallas MP and other representatives of the Victorian Government, as well as prominent figures from the financial sector and the Japanese business community. Ambassador Kusaka attended Mitsubishi Australia’s 60th Anniversary Party on the 21st, where he made a congratulatory speech, and also visited Japanese-affiliated companies operating in Victoria on both the 21st and 22nd. The visit provided an important opportunity for Ambassador Kusaka to highlight and discuss with key stakeholders the very significant contributions made by Melbourne and Victoria—particularly in the areas of economic and cultural exchange—to the rapidly expanding and deepening overall relations of Japan and Australia. The visit was a great success and reaffirmed Ambassador Kusaka’s determination to enhance Japan-Australia and Japan-Victoria relations even further.
