2025 Autumn Conferment of Decorations

On 3 November, the Government of Japan announced the 2025 Autumn Conferment of Decorations.
The Embassy of Japan in Australia wishes it to be known that the following three recipients in Australia shall be conferred with decorations in recognition of their service.
LTGEN Gavan Reynolds AO
Former Chief of Defence Intelligence
LTGEN Gavan Reynolds AO has been awarded the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Neck Ribbon for his contribution to promoting cooperation between Japan and Australia in the field of defence.
Mr. Timothy Hugh Pallas
Former State Treasurer of Victoria
Mr. Timothy Hugh Pallas has been awarded the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Rosette for his contribution to promoting regional exchange and mutual understanding between Japan and Australia.
Dr Peter Hendriks
Former lecturer at the Australian National University in the College of Asia & the Pacific, School of Culture, History & Language
Dr Peter Hendriks has been awarded the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Rays for his contribution to promoting academic exchange and mutual understanding between Japan and Australia.
