2022 Autumn Conferment of Decorations Ceremony for Ms Eriko Prior

On 3 March, Ms Eriko Prior, in recognition of her long-standing contribution as a locally engaged staff member at the Embassy of Japan in Australia, received the Order of the Sacred Treasure, Silver Rays, as part of the autumn 2022 Decorations. This is the first time that a locally engaged staff member in Australia has received this honour.
The ceremony took place at the Ambassador’s Residence in a relaxed atmosphere, attended by Ms Prior’s family and friends. Ambassador YAMAGAMI praised Ms Prior’s service to Japan through the many projects managed by her during her time as a locally engaged staff member. (Ambassador YAMAGAMI’s speech is available here.)
