20th East Meets West Charity Concert
2023/8/22
On 12 August, Ambassador Suzuki Kazuhiro together with the ACT branch of the Australia-Japan Society (AJS ACT) hosted the 20th East Meets West Charity Concert, welcoming violinists Goto Aiko and Thibauld Pavlovic-Hobba, and violist Meagan Turner. The concert was a celebration of the charity concert’s 20th anniversary.
The proceeds of the charity concert will go towards the Tohoku Youth Program, which is run by AJS ACT to bring junior and senior high schools students who lost their parents in the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake to Australia.
The event was an opportunity to reflect on the progress made since the disaster, support recovery efforts, and to deepen exchange between Japan and Australia here in Canberra.
