2023 Autumn Conferment of Decorations

The Government of Japan announced on 3 November the 2023 Autumn Conferment of Decorations on recipients for their outstanding contribution to their respective areas.
The Embassy of Japan in Australia wishes it to be known that the following recipient in Australia shall be conferred with decorations in recognition of their service. The details of the recipient are as follow;
LTGEN Richard Maxwell Burr, AO, DSC, MVO
Former Chief of Army
LTGEN Richard Maxwell Burr has been awarded The Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Neck Ribbon in recognition of his work in promoting mutual defence relationship between Japan and Australia.
