Mr John Lamb bestowed the Ambassadorial Conferment

2018/7/23

In a ceremony on Friday 13 July, Ambassador Kusaka bestowed the Ambassadorial Conferment upon Mr John Lamb for his contributions to the deepening of mutual understanding and friendship between Japan and Australia through his research into Japanese immigration to Australia and Japanese graves.

The Ambassador presented the award to Mr Lamb and spoke of his wonderful achievements. Surrounded by friends and family, Mr Lamb said he never expected to receive any returns from his research and that it was the fateful encounters with people through conducting his research that made it a success. Mr Lamb spoke of his research being like a puzzle, trying to put together the pieces by discovering the footsteps of unidentified deceased persons. Mr Lamb stated that he would be delighted for his research to play a part in the further strengthening of our two nation’s relationship.
