Ambassador Kusaka’s attendance of the American Australian Association and US Studies Centre’s 10th Anniversary and Benefit Dinner

On June 9, Ambassador and Mrs Kusaka attended the 10th Anniversary and Benefit Dinner of the American Australian Association and US Studies Centre held in Sydney as guests of one of the principal hosts the Perth USAsia Centre. Amid the many hundreds of guests that attended the dinner representing the US and Australian business, government, academic, and diplomatic communities, which also saw former Prime Minister John Howard, who was involved in the foundation of the Centre, attend as guest of honour, speeches were delivered by former Prime Minister Howard, Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull, Foreign Minister Julie Bishop, NSW Premier Mike Baird, and US Ambassador John Berry. Ambassador and Mrs Kusaka used the occasion to engage in conversation about the Japan-Australia relationship with former Prime Minister Howard, Prime Minister Turnbull, Foreign Minister Bishop, former Australian Ambassador to the US Kim Beazley, Perth USAsia Centre CEO Gordon Flake, and John and Pauline Gandel.
