Ambassador’s Official Visit to Victoria

2016/5/6
Ambassador Kusaka paid an official visit to the State of Victoria from the 20th to the 22nd of April. In addition to paying courtesy visits to Governor Linda Dessau, Supreme Court of Victoria Chief Justice Marilyn Warren, Premier of Victoria Daniel Andrews, and Lord Mayor of the City of Melbourne Robert Doyle, Ambassador Kusaka attended an Anzac Day Remembrance Lunch hosted by Premier Andrews and a dinner hosted by the Australia-Japan Business Co-operation Committee. It was during these events that Ambassador Kusaka was able to exchange a range of opinions with many state and city political figures and members of Victoria’s business community.
This official visit enabled Ambassador Kusaka to appreciate the importance of the State of Victoria to Australia’s domestic economy, agriculture, resource and cultural sectors and to re-confirm the solid partnership that exists between Japan and the State of Victoria on economic matters.  Ambassador Kusaka also renewed his awareness of the need to further strengthen such ties into the future. As a result of this visit, Ambassador Kusaka will continue to expend every effort to further promote the relationship between Japan and the State of Victoria.
