Conferral of the Foreign Minister’s Commendation on Mr Okawa Hitoshi, Managing Executive Officer of INPEX Corporation

On 17 July 2022, Ambassador Yamagami presented Japan’s Foreign Minister’s Commendation to Mr Okawa Hitoshi, Managing Executive Officer of INPEX Corporation, President on Oceania Projects and President Director of Australia, in recognition of his contribution to the economic relationship between Australia and Japan. The ceremony was also attended by Mr Ueda Takayuki, CEO of INPEX. Ambassador Yamagami praised Mr Okawa for his contributions over many years to Japanese energy security and building trust among Australian local people towards Japan through launching and operating the Ichthys Project, the biggest LNG project ever operated by Japanese companies. Mr Okawa responded by expressing his gratitude for the commendation.
