Conferral of the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Star, on Mr Nicholas Peter Warner, AO, PSM

On 31 January 2025, Mr Nicholas Peter Warner, AO, PSM Former Director-General of National Intelligence, Former Director-General of the Australian Secret Intelligence Service (ASIS) and Former Secretary of the Australian Department of Defence received the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Star, as part of the 2024 Autumn Conferment of Decorations for his contribution to strengthening Australia-Japan relations in a ceremony held at the Ambassador’s Residence.
Ambassador Suzuki praised Mr. Warner on the dramatic deepening of cooperation between Japan and Australia within the information community under his strong leadership, as well as his contributions to strengthening relations between Japan and Australia in national security and more while serving as the Secretary of the Australian Department of Defence. Mr Warner returned his thanks to the Ambassador.
