Important Information for Visa Applicants

For current visa application information, please see our COVID-19 information section.
Please note that tourist entry to Japan is paused, and Australian passport holders currently need a valid visa to enter Japan.

The Embassy of Japan looks after visa applicants who live in the ACT only. Accordingly, if you live elsewhere please consult the list of Japanese diplomatic missions in Australia presented below and visit the website of the Consulate which has jurisdiction for your state of residence. If you have any questions about visas please direct them to that Consulate. Your co-operation is greatly appreciated.

Visa Enquiries

The Embassy of Japan understands that prospective visa applicants may wish to acquire accurate information from the various Japanese consular missions in Australia before submitting their application. It would be most appreciated if visa applicants could make their enquires by telephone instead of E-mail.
